Caves, water and weaving
Crevillent rises sharply from the southern Alicante plain into dry barrancos at the foot of its namesake sierra. Cave dwellings cut into those slopes form some of its most distinctive neighbourhoods.
Water channels, esparto working and hand looms all answered the same demanding landscape. Their legacy survives in the mountain paths, the town's museums and a carpet industry known far beyond the comarca.
